Short historical review of our school
 
Our school celebrated its 100 years anniversary in the 2006/2007 semester.
 
The first building dedicated to education in Bakonyjákó was built in 1756. 1886-The current school was built in eclectic style in 1886, it has 3 classrooms, which were expanded and renewed several times since. Till 1948 it was maintained by the parish then the state, and since 1990 it is maintained by the local government.
 
Our special facility is German gentilitial language-teaching
 
Gentilitial program, traditions
The German language-teaching dates back to June 25 1941. From 1953 we offer German ethnic-centered education. Till 1980 the teaching was limited to the upper classes, but later it expanded to 5 hours a week for every class.
In our local curriculum we put a high emphasis on ethnic German language teaching.

Special Themes: German national education

A brief historical overview of the kindergarten: the kindergarten of Bakonyjákó looks back on a 30-years history. The start of its operation coincides with the regionalization of the surrounding schools. The first kindergarten started in 1975 with only one group. Since 1986, 2 rooms are available for the children. Until 2002 the kindergarten operated with 2, partly mixed groups. This was the time when the development of mixed-age children groups were formed. The German minority education in the kindergarten began in 1993. In February 2000 a new official name referring to the German national character was added to the coat-of-arms of the kindergarten.

Children of school age begin their studies in the elementary school that constitutes of learning of German vernacular right from entering the junior class within the frames of the gentilitial education.
